Orientation and Connection

The orientation step is an important practice to be considered by companies, whatever their size. Like the previous steps, it is also applied even before the staff starts their training. This is because the orientation helps to improve relationships and communication between key people and the company itself.

Like the induction, the orientation should be conducted by a professional with specific skills, developed in a structured way adding elements of the company's organisational culture.
In this element, the new employee is teamed up with key staff member and is shown how the day-to-day operations work, officially meet the rest of the team and regular customers, and is given all the information that may be useful for better performance within your brand.

It is worth noting that this process is strictly customised where approaches change according to the size of the brand. For large companies for example, in addition to guiding employees with internal processes, guidelines for external processes that are relevant to the brand are included.  Each venue in a larger brand is unique in its own right, so it is important to highlight these as such.

Building connections with key staff is critical in this element,  Connection is not just communication, but identifying and building ties with everyone involved in your brand.  From the milk delivery person to one of your best customers, every connection is important to a new employee feeling comfortable and enjoying their role.
